Tag Management with the Meridian Manager App (iOS) Follow
The Meridian Manager App is used to deploy and manage BLE Tags. BLE Tags are used to track assets on a map.
Asset Tags Overview
Asset Tags are used for asset tracking as part of a real-time location system (RTLS).
Once an Asset Tag has been deployed using the App, the tagged asset can be tracked on a map using the Meridian Manager App, the Meridian Editor, and the Meridian SDK.
In order to disambiguate BLE Tags and their assets, names, external IDs, and labels can be assigned to each Asset Tag. Photos or images can also be assigned to Asset Tags.
Adding Tags using Meridian Manager App
To add BLE tags for tracking, make sure the bluetooth device on the mobile device is enabled.
The Meridian Manager app uses the bluetooth signal from the BLE tag to identify the tag you are adding to the location. The BLE Tag ships turned off by default, it must be turned on for the Tags to start broadcasting and allow the mobile app to find it. To turn on the tag, flip the tag to the backside and rotate the dial clockwise from O to l.
After the tag is turned on, follow the steps to add it to your location using the App.
- Open the Meridian Manager App and select Tags mode from top of the screen.
- Tap on the + sign near the search window in the Search/List Panel. Select Bluetooth Scan. The App will scan for the tag and when the tag is found click confirm.
- Name the tag.
- Click Deploy Tag.
The tag will now show up in the Deployed List in the List Panel.
You can also add tags using the following options:
- Nearby List - Nearby tags that are auto detected by the app.
- QR Code Scan - Add tag by scanning its QR code using device camera.
- Box Barcode Scan - Add tags by scanning barcode on box.
Tag Labels
Labels are text that you can add to an BLE Tag to search for BLE Tags added to specific types of assets. You can group different type of assets by adding a label type for each asset tag.
Adding Labels to Tags:
You can add labels to tags while you add them using app, but labels must be created already for this.
To add labels to deployed tags:
- Search for the tag from deployed tags list
- Select the required tag and open its details page
- Click on 'Labels', select the required label from the label list. OR
- Select 'Add' and enter the new label name. Click 'Done', your new label will be available in list.
Tracking/Viewing Tags on Meridian Manager App
After the tag has been added, wait 10-15 minutes before trying to view the location of the tag on the map. When enough data has been sent to the Meridian Tags server, the location of the tag can be viewed in either the app or in Meridian Editor.

Adding Control Tags using Meridian Manager App
Control Tags are ordinary BLE Tags that are deployed at known/specific locations on a floor plan.
They are used as a tool to quantify the difference between a tag's physical location and the tag's observed location as reported by the APs.
Refer this document for more info regarding Control Tags.
