User guide for Aruba Meridian Manager app (iOS version)

Overview

Using the Meridian Manager app, Beacons hardware can be configured, placed, and deployed to a map. Tags hardware can also can be deployed and managed using the app. Meridian Manager app sends the deployed Beacons and Tags information to the Meridian Server.

Logging In

The first time you open the Meridian Manager app, you’ll see a login screen where you need to enter the email address you use to log in to the Meridian Editor. At the bottom of the login screen you must also choose the instance you want to log in to - Standard or European Union.

The next screen you need to enter password and login. The login credentials are the same you use to login to Meridian Editor.

Once you’ve logged in, you won’t be prompted to log in again unless you log out, reinstall, or upgrade the app.

If you’ve forgotten your password, tap Forgot password?. The Forgot password option is seen after entering the email and selecting the instance.
On the following screen in the EMAIL ADDRESS field, enter the email address you use to log in to the Editor, and then tap Send. An email will be sent to you with instructions for resetting your password.

If you don’t have an account in the Meridian Editor, contact a current Meridian Editor user for your organisation.

Before you can deploy Beacons & Tags to a map, you’ll need to have a map set up for your location in the Editor. If you don’t have a map set up in the Editor, please contact Meridian.

Choosing your location

Once you’ve logged in, tap the location you’d like to load in the Meridian Manager app.
If you have access to only one location then you will be taken directly to that location view.

Meridian Manager App View

When you login to Meridian Manager app, you will need to select a location. Once you select a location you will see the floor plan view with the following sections:

• Menu
• Beacons/Tags Mode
• Map Picker
• Visible Layers
• Show location
• Search/List Panel

2. Sensor Management - Used to manage Beacons & Tags
3. Troubleshooting - Different modes for troubleshooting

Beacons management using Meridian Manager App

Aruba Beacons can be deployed as the following types:

1. Deploying Location Type Beacons.
2. Deploying Proximity Type Beacons.

Tags management using Meridian Manager App

1. Adding/Deleting/Replacing Tags for Asset Tracking.
2. Adding Labels for Asset Tags.
3. Deploying Control Tags.
